Agender

November 2019

Acrylic paint and pen

11” x 18”

Self-portrait exploring my relationship with gender and identity.

While I am open about being assigned female at birth I am not a woman. I identify as agender, which means I do not identify as a particular gender. I also chose to depict my breasts as many trans folk have a difficult relationship with their chest, myself included. But top surgery is expensive and takes a long time to go through the whole process. For the time being I can only fight against the censorship of female-presenting breasts. There is nothing sexual about female-presenting breasts and there is no need for them to be censored, specially when those breasts are on trans folks.
